Report: Injured Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke unavailable for Benfica clash
Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke is reportedly unavailable for selection for his side's Champions League match with Portuguese outfit SL Benfica after suffering a hamstring injury against Eibar last week.
Koke was sidelined with a Grade 1-2 hamstring injury, and while the midfielder tried to work his way back for Saturday's fixture against Villarreal, could not recover in time.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone conducted training on Tuesday morning without Koke, and there are now doubts that the 23-year-old will not play in the upcoming Madrid derby match against Real Madrid, either.
Koke, a Spanish international, has been with Atletico Madrid throughout his career, where he has made over 150 appearances in all competitions. He came through the youth ranks of the club before making his senior debut in 2009.
