Champions League draw: Pep Guardiola to face former club as Barcelona draw Bayern Munich
The draw for the semifinal stage of the Champions League took place Friday, pitting Barcelona against Bayern Munich in a tie that will see Pep Guardiola return to the Camp Nou. Juventus will face Real Madrid in the other semifinal.
Regarding the schedule, Barcelona will host Bayern in the first leg on May 6, with the return leg going on May 13 at the Allianz Arena.
Juventus, meanwhile, will welcome Real Madrid at Juventus Stadium in the first leg of their tie on May 5, with the return leg being played on May 12 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As always, the draw produced a number of intriguing storylines. Guardiola's return to Barcelona is undoubtedly the headliner as he'll be tasked with destroying the machine he created while going up against a manager who he once took the pitch alongside in Luis Enrique.
Barcelona's tie against Bayern, which marks a repeat of the 2012-13 semifinal in which the German side thrashed the Catalan club 7-0 on aggregate, will also feature a family feud as Thiago Alcantara will take on his younger brother, Rafinha, for the first time since he left the Camp Nou.
Here are some reactions to the draw from players who are still competing in the competition:
