The Toronto Argonauts used a big first half to hold off the Ottawa RedBlacks 30-24 Sunday.

The RedBlacks opened the scoring on a 3-yard rushing touchdown by Jeremiah Johnson midway through the first quarter, but the Argos would reply with 17 points of their own to take a 17-7 lead to the half.

Ottawa would respond by taking a 24-17 lead in the fourth, but after Trevor Harris hit Vidal Hazelton with a 15-yard TD pass, the Argos used two Swayze Waters field goals to give them a six point cushion, which they would ride the rest of the way.

Harris finished the day going 21-of-31 throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns, while Henry Burris went 32-of-35 throwing for 426 yards.

With the win the Argos improve to 6-2, keeping pace with the Hamilton TigerCats for top spot in the East, while the RedBlacks fall to 4-4 on the season with the loss.
