Argos' Foley on return to Saskatchewan: 'I'm going to be fired up'
The Toronto Argonauts (1-0) visit Saskatchewan on Sunday for a matchup against the Roughriders (0-1).
The contest will mark the first time Argos defensive end Ricky Foley has returned to Mosaic Stadium since he was traded last season. Foley signed with the Roughriders as a free agent in 2013 and won his second Grey Cup that same year. His first was with Toronto in 2012.
"It was a great," Foley told Argonauts.ca of his stint in Saskatchewan. "(I had an) unbelievable two years. It's crazy that it was only that short of a time there. (There was a) great locker room, great fans and the coaching staff was great. I have zero complaints about my time out there."
Even though Foley enjoyed his time in Rider Nation, he says there's extra motivation playing against a team that traded him during the off-season.
"Whatever I can take and draw from for motivation, I do. I'm going to be fired up, and being back there in Saskatchewan at Mosaic I'm going to be extra fired up. But you've got to channel that. You can't go out there and give too much energy during the introductions and not have anything left for the first few plays. I'm going to play hard, I'm going to be emotional, that's just who I am."
The Argos hope to build on their 26-11 win last week against the Edmonton Eskimos. Filing in for the injured Ricky Ray, quarterback Trevor Harris threw for almost 350 yards and three touchdowns in his second career start.
