Huge 50/50 jackpot available at Stampeders home opener
In the 2014 season, the Edmonton Eskimos saw a massive $348,534 50/50 draw won by a lucky Esks fan, after a winning ticket went unclaimed.
This season, a similar situation is occurring in Calgary. A winning ticket dating back to Oct. 24, 2014 - a home game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders - remains unclaimed. The earnings from that ticket will spill over at the Stamps home opener against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at McMahon Stadium on June 26.
The pot will begin at $101,670, and more will be added with each new ticket sold before the conclusion of halftime.
"I look forward to seeing a fortunate individual claim this tremendous prize on June 26," Stamps president Gordon Norrie said. "Best of all, in addition to the lucky 50/50 ticket holder, amateur football will be a big winner through the Stampeders Foundation."
