Report: Hamilton Tiger-Cats lose Gaydosh, Watt for season
Defending the CFL's East Division title just became a whole lot harder for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who have reportedly lost two key non-imports for the season:
Defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh and wide receiver Spencer Watt were injured in separate offseason training accidents, according to Drew Edwards of the Hamilton Spectator. The team has yet to confirm the injuries, but is expected to do so shortly.
It's a significant blow for a Tiger-Cats team that was looking to lean on both players following last season's inspired run to the Grey Cup.
Gaydosh, taken first overall in the 2013 CFL draft, joined Hamilton last season after spending the 2013 campaign on the Carolina Panthers' injured reserve list with a back injury suffered in training camp. The 24-year-old played in nine games with Hamilton in 2014, including two starts.
Watt signed a two-year deal with the Tiger-Cats in February after spending his first five seasons with the Toronto Argonauts. The 26-year-old had 35 receptions for 356 yards and three touchdowns with Toronto in 2014.
