MONTREAL - Montreal Alouettes running back Brandon Whitaker was placed on the six-game injured list Friday due to a foot injury.
He injured his left foot during an off-field workout Wednesday, the Alouettes said in a release. The five-foot-10 200-pound native of Edmond, Okla., will not require surgery.
Entering play Friday, Whitaker was second in the CFL with 764 rushing yards on 169 carries. He has also caught 42 passes for 274 yards and has two touchdowns on the season.
The 29-year-old Baylor product is in his fifth CFL season, all with Montreal.
