Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli moved to 2-0 as the team's starting pivot and brought his team to 2-8 on the season with a 26-22 win over the Ottawa RedBlacks Saturday.

Masoli and the Tiger-Cats surged to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter and built it up to 23-7 by the end of the first half. The RedBlacks outscored the Ticats 15-3 in the second half, but it was too little too late, as they fall to 4-7-1 on the year.

The Tiger-Cats were helped out in the third quarter, as RedBlacks' starting quarterback Trevor Harris was forced from the game and replaced by backup Drew Tate. Tate filled in admirably, going 8-for-13 for 114 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions, but he didn't quite have enough to push his team over the top.

Harris suffered a shoulder injury after being hit to the ground. He'll undergo an MRI but head coach Rick Campbell said the injury isn't season ending, according to Matthew Scianitti of TSN.

Masoli finished his second game as the starter going 17-for-31 through the air for 231 yards with neither a touchdown or an interception. Running back C.J. Gable had 74 rushing yards and two scores on the night.

Place kicker Sergio Castillo took care of the rest for the Tiger-Cats, nailing four field-goal attempts.

The RedBlacks remain ahead of the Toronto Argonauts as the East Division's top seed, but have played one more game.
