A torn hamstring has officially brought an end to Vince Young's comeback attempt.
After suffering the injury during practice on June 6, Young's agent Leigh Steinberg announced Saturday that the 34-year-old has been waived by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Young was originally given a timetable of four-to-six weeks for his return.
Young had agreed to a contract with the Roughriders in March and was expected to compete for the starting job alongside veteran gunslinger Kevin Glenn.
His departure all but assures Glenn will be under center for the Riders when they open up the 2017 season against the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday.
