The Ottawa RedBlacks have signed defensive back Javier Arenas, the team announced Thursday.
Arenas played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, and Atlanta Falcons of the NFL, but hasn't appeared in a game since 2014.
The 29-year-old made a name for himself at the University of Alabama on special teams, returning seven punts for touchdowns during his time with the Crimson Tide. He was also a part of Alabama's 2010 national championship squad.
