Blue Bombers still have plenty to play for against RedBlacks
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers know they will heading to the postseason, but where exactly they'll finish is another story.
Winnipeg will travel to Ottawa to meet the RedBlacks on Friday and a victory would keep the Blue Bombers alive for second spot in the West, as long as the BC Lions drop their game to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday.
Should the Bombers lose though, it would open the door for the Edmonton Eskimos to move up to third and Winnipeg could end up being the crossover team.
The Blue Bombers could catch a break, as Ottawa is already assured of the top spot in the East with a bye and could rest its starters with nothing to play for.
Ottawa defeated Winnipeg last week and took advantage of some Matt Nichols turnovers. The Blue Bombers pivot picked the wrong time of year to start getting careless with the football, as Nichols has thrown five interceptions in his past two games. He threw only three all season prior to that.
Ottawa has been reaping the rewards of a strong October from quarterback Henry Burris. The 41-year-old is averaging 383 passing yards over his past three contests heading into the playoffs.
