Report: Tiger-Cats' Zach Collaros returns to practice
There was a pleasant surprise for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at practice Monday.
Zach Collaros returned to the field for the first time since suffering a torn ACL late last season, according to Drew Edwards of the Hamilton Spectator. Hamilton also removed Collaros from the six-game injured list, Edwards noted.
The pivot has been sidelined since September 2015 because of the ailment, forcing Jeremiah Masoli to take the reins behind center for the first three games of the season. Masoli hasn't been bad with 933 passing yards and five touchdowns, but Collaros is hard to replace.
In only 12 starts in 2015, Collaros threw for more than 3,300 yards with 25 touchdowns to only eight interceptions.
Before Tiger-Cats fans get too excited, though, Edwards adds that Collaros won't be ready to play Friday versus the Montreal Alouettes and Masoli continues to take first-team reps at practice.
