Eskimos entertain RedBlacks in Grey Cup rematch
The Ottawa RedBlacks won't have to wait long to avenge their Grey Cup loss from a year ago. Ottawa travels to Edmonton on Saturday to meet the Eskimos as both teams open their 2016 campaign.
Edmonton bested the RedBlacks 26-20 in the 103rd Grey Cup, but both teams have undergone significant changes since then.
The Eskimos' coaching staff looks vastly different from the group that won the championship. Jason Maas has taken over for Chris Jones as head coach, after Jones left for the Saskatchewan Roughriders shortly after capturing the Grey Cup.
It's never easy taking over a team coming off a title, and you can bet expectations for Maas and company will be at an all-time high in the City of Champions.
In Ottawa, Henry Burris remains one of the CFL's most dangerous passers, but the RedBlacks are starting to see a future without the 41-year-old. Ottawa signed Trevor Harris in free agency to no doubt eventually be Burris' successor.
Burris threw for nearly 5,700 yards last season, but it remains to be seen how long he can hold off father time and keep Harris on the bench.
