In a surprise move Saturday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers made veteran defensive back Matt Bucknor a victim of roster cuts.
Bucknor ranked second on the Blue Bombers in interceptions last season with three. The 30-year-old has proven durable, too, as he hasn't missed a game in the past two campaigns.
CFL rosters must by reduced to 46 players by Sunday at noon, before the start of the regular season.
Winnipeg opens its regular-season schedule on June 24, when it hosts the Montreal Alouettes.
