Report: Ticats, Banks agree to new deal
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have reached a new agreement with wide receiver/return specialist Brandon Banks, according to a report by TSN's Gary Lawless.
The deal revises the three-year contract Banks originally signed with the team in February 2015 by providing him with more cash upfront. The new agreement does not adjust the length of the deal, nor is there any change to the total amount of compensation Banks will receive.
Banks caught 22 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown for the Ticats last season, but it's as a return man where Banks truly excels. He registered 782 kick-return yards and a sensational 930 punt-return yards, including four touchdowns, in 2015.
Since joining the Tiger-Cats in 2013, Banks has 1,802 kick-return yards, 1,655 punt-return yards and seven return touchdowns.
