Nuri Sahin's 2014-15 campaign is off to a rough start.
The Turkish defensive midfielder, who returned to Borussia Dortmund following a disappointing loan spell at Liverpool in January, and made the move permanent in April, underwent surgery at Isar Park Hospital in Plattling, Germany on Wednesday. The procedure was performed by special Dr. Heinz-Jurgen Eichhorn and involved the removal of inflamed tissue in Sahin's left knee.
Sahin will now be on the sidelines for approximately two months, meaning Dortmund will likely be without his services for their first three Champions League fixtures in Group D.
