Ribery back in Bayern training after ligament injury
Thumbs up if you returned to training.
Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery was back in first-team training Monday, more than a month since the French international suffered lateral collateral ligament damage during a 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin.
The Bavarian table-toppers released a statement announcing Ribery's return to training, adding, "The wet and cold weather was not particularly appealing but the Frenchman was nevertheless happy to be back outside."
While most of the Bayern squad were joining up with their international mates for the upcoming international window, German forward Thomas Muller participated in light training after sustaining a muscular injury against Hamburg.
Bayern's statement was not short on details, adding, "Joining Ribery in the unpleasant conditions outside was Thomas Muller. Wrapped up in a wooly hat, the 27 year-old did his laps under the supervision of Dr. Holger Broich, head of fitness and rehabilitation, along with rehabilitation coach Thomas Wilhelmi.
"On the programme were running and coordination exercises, some with higher intensity. Muller suffered a muscle injury in the win at Hamburg and returned to the training pitch last week."
The club did not provide a timetable for the first-team regulars' returns, with Bayern's next match coming on Nov. 18 when Bavarian minnow Augsburg visits the Allianz Arena.
