Schalke to sign Konoplyanka from Sevilla on permanent deal
Mid-table Bundesliga side Schalke announced Thursday that on-loan Ukranian international Yevhen Konoplyanka would be signing a permanent deal with the club once the season ends in 10 days.
Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel revealed the decision with a statement on the club's website, with Konoplyanka's contract among several squad updates as the season wraps up. Die Knappen currently sit 10th with two matches to play - a visit Saturday from Hamburg and a trip to Ingolstadt seven days later.

Konoplyanka, 27, joined the Gelsenkirchen side in the summer on loan from Sevilla in a deal that included an obligatory buyout clause, and has made 27 appearances for the club in all competitions pairing six goals with an assist.
Among Heidel's other announcements were that long-serving striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be leaving in the summer when his contract is up, Holger Badstuber will return to Bayern Munich, and that the club is in talks to make Baba Rahman's loan from Chelsea permanent.
