Chelsea is reportedly interested in FC Koln left full-back Jonas Hector, with manager Antonio Conte identifying a need for reinforcements to the team's wide defensive ranks, according to Peter O'Rourke of ESPN FC.
The Blues' options out wide on the left are limited to Cesar Azpilicueta and little else after the club sent Baba Rahman out on a season-long loan to FC Schalke 04.
The 26-year-old Germany international is also fielding interest from Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp looks to replace Alberto Moreno, but ESPN FC reports Chelsea is ready to swoop in and snatch Hector away from the Reds.
Hector signed a contract extension with the German club last week but that reportedly shouldn't hinder a move away from Koln.
