Freiburg signs Janik Haberer from Hoffenheim
Angular German striker Janik Haberer is making the 2 1/2-hour drive south on the A5 after putting pen to paper Friday on a move from Hoffenheim to Freiburg.
Haberer, 22, spent last season on loan with second-tier Bochum, where he made 33 appearances with three goals. He will now return to the top-flight with Bundesliga II winner Freiburg, the club announced Friday.
"Janik has a good balance between offensive qualities and work with the ball," sporting director Klemens Hart Bach offered. "He developed well in the past season and we look forward to another player who has a lot of potential."

"This step comes for me at the right time and I am happy that it worked out. The talks with the managers and the coaches convinced me. My aim is now, of course, to come to my periods and to achieve the best possible with the sports club," Haberer said Friday.
Under contract at Hoffenheim through 2018, Haberer joins Freiburg for a reported €2-million fee.
