It's a one-fight deal with PBC, despite Álvarez and the promotion splitting last week with two fights remaining on a three-fight deal, ESPN's Mike Coppinger reports.
Álvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) has been idle since defeating Jermell Charlo via unanimous decision last September to retain his WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles. The 33-year-old is on a three-fight winning streak at super middleweight after dropping a unanimous decision to Dmitry Bivol at light heavyweight in May 2022.
Munguia has yet to taste defeat in 43 professional fights. The 27-year-old has won via knockout in 34 of those bouts. Munguia last stepped into the ring in January, defeating John Ryder with a ninth-round TKO to retain his WBC Silver super middleweight title.
