Davis remains undefeated after Garcia retires following 8th round
Gervonta "Tank" Davis remains undefeated after his opponent Hector Luis Garcia retired on his stool following the eighth round of their WBA lightweight title fight at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.
Garcia's corner stopped the fight after he temporarily lost his vision following a hard punch to the head near the end of the eighth. Garcia confirmed in a postfight interview that his vision returned shortly after the bout.

Davis, 28, was clearly ahead on the official scorecards before the stoppage.
The fight, which started close to 1 a.m. ET, was also halted abruptly during the eighth round because of an altercation in the crowd.
Davis' victory pushes his record to 28-0 with 26 KOs. Garcia, 31, moves to 16-1-3 with the first loss of his professional career.
"Tank" is set to square off against lightweight sensation Ryan Garcia in April in a highly anticipated bout between two of boxing's biggest stars.
