Tyson Fury retires on 34th birthday: 'I've finally decided to walk away'

Tyson Fury's career is officially over - at least for now.

The heavyweight boxing champion retired Friday after coming out of unofficial retirement two days earlier to challenge Derek Chisora to a trilogy bout.

"Massive thanks to everyone who had an input in my career over the years and, after long hard conversations, I've finally decided to walk away, and on my 34th birthday, I say bon voyage," Fury wrote on Twitter.

He added: "See you on the other side, you big dossers. 2008-22."

"The Gypsy King" finishes his 15-year career with a 32-0-1 record and 23 knockouts.

Fury's last fight came in late April when he knocked out Dillian Whyte to retain his WBC and "The Ring" heavyweight belts. He said following the match that he promised his wife he would retire.
