Mayweather headlines 2021 Hall of Fame inductees
Boxing legends Floyd Mayweather Jr., Wladimir Klitschko, and Andre Ward were elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility, the IBHOF announced Tuesday.
Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) won world titles in five weight classes during his 21-year career. The 43-year-old will come out of retirement to participate in an exhibition bout against YouTube star Logan Paul on Feb. 20.
Klitschko (64-5, 54 KOs) held a heavyweight belt for over nine years during his prime, while Ward (32-0, 16 KOs) won an Olympic gold medal and held multiple world titles in two weight classes.
Laila Ali, Ann Wolfe, Marian Trimiar, Dr. Margaret Goodman, Davey Moore, Jackie Tonawanda, Freddie Brown, Jackie McCoy, George Kimball, and Jay Larkin will also be inducted on June 13, 2021.
The 2020 class, which includes Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, and Christy Martin, will be part of the 2021 ceremony after this year's event was postponed due to the pandemic.
