Report: Tyson-Jones exhibition postponed until Nov. 28
Iron Mike's return to the ring is delayed.
The highly anticipated exhibition bout between veteran fighters Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. has been postponed until Nov. 28, sources told The Ring's Ryan O'Hara and The Athletic's Mike Coppinger.
The fight is still expected to be contested at Dignity Health Park in Carson, California, according to O'Hara. No fans will be allowed inside the stadium due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the eight-round fight will reportedly be broadcast on pay-per-view.
The decision to delay the bout is unrelated to rumors of a potential Canelo Alvarez fight in early September, according to Coppinger.
Tyson, 54, announced the exhibition fight against the 51-year-old Jones in July after months of speculation regarding Tyson's potential return to the ring. The former heavyweight champion plans to donate his paycheck to charity.
Tyson last fought in 2005. Jones most recently entered the ring in 2018.
