Former Dallas Mavericks player Delonte West is looking to make a comeback in the BIG3.

The 38-year-old, who last played in the NBA during the 2011-12 season, attended a tryout for the BIG3 in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. He appeared to be in good spirits as he spoke about the opportunity.

"I thought I was ready to give up on myself - not on anyone else - but I learned that sometimes God removes things from you to show you what you have and who you are," West said in a video shared by the three-on-three basketball league.

West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder during his time in the NBA and has struggled with substance abuse issues and homelessness. He entered a drug rehabilitation center in September 2020 with help from Mavs owner Mark Cuban but was arrested a little over a year later in Florida on charges including resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication.

West averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists per game over eight seasons in the NBA.
