SHENZHEN, China - Top-seeded Tomas Berdych won his 11th ATP Tour title by defeating Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3, 7-6 (7) Monday in the Shenzhen Open final.
Heavy rain on Sunday had postponed the final for a day and after another rain interruption on Monday, Berdych finally clinched the title.
Garcia-Lopez had a chance to take the final into third set when he led 6-5 in the tiebreaker. But Berdych saved the set point and then converted his second match point with a forehand return for his first title of the season.
Berdych lost in three finals this season - in Doha, Rotterdam, and Monte Carlo - and now heads to China Open where he's seeded second.
