Nadal still experiencing pain in wrist, could shut down his season
Rafael Nadal hasn't played since the fourth round at Wimbledon in July and is making slow progress towards a return after pulling out of the U.S. Open with a wrist injury.
Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated mentioned in his US Open: fifty parting thoughts article on Monday he's not convinced Nadal will return for the rest of the season.
Maybe they were simply putting on a brave face, but ATP officials were expressing confidence that Nadal would be back from a wrist injury for the Asian swing and the World Tour Finals. I’ve also been told by sources not to be surprised if he shuts it down for the rest of the season.
Nadal is practicing in his hometown of Manacor, and told a local TV station he's putting in the necessary work to get back to competing, but is still experiencing pain in his wrist.
