Bjorn Borg reunites with FILA as brand ambassador
Four decades after they first partnered with Bjorn Borg, FILA has re-signed the Swedish tennis icon as a brand ambassador.
The deal was made official Monday in Stockholm.
"FILA has a history of aligning with legendary athletes who have made an impact in their sport and beyond. It is an honor to welcome Bjorn back to the FILA family," Gene Yoon, global chairman of FILA, said in a statement. "As a brand, our DNA is firmly rooted in tennis. Together with Bjorn, FILA helped to change the way the world looked at fashion on the court, with a design aesthetic that reflected his distinctive and fearless style of play. That vision and sense of style has never been more relevant than it is today."
Borg won 11 Grand Slam singles titles during his career, including five straight victories at Wimbledon. His 1980 Wimbledon championship match against John McEnroe is the focus of the upcoming film "Borg vs. McEnroe," which is set for theatrical release on April 13.
