Serena Williams will take week off to let 'elbow heal'
A week after capturing her fourth Wimbledon championship in seven years, Serena Williams announced she will be taking a week off.
Williams was forced to withdraw from the Swedish Open, but hopes to return to play this summer, she said on her Facebook page:
As much fun as we have been having the past 8 or so weeks I have to take some time to let my elbow heal. I am confident it will be ready for the rest of the summer. I need some time to recover and rehab it, but as of now I am being forced to take the next week off. Love you all

The No. 1-ranked player in the world reportedly sustained the injury while practicing in Bastad, Sweden and withdrew from her second-round match against Klara Koukalova.
Williams will look to return in time for the U.S. Open in pursuit of the calendar Grand Slam. A win would make her just the fourth woman to achieve the feat. The U.S. Open kicks off on Aug. 31.
