Throughout Brazil's World Cup campaign, there was always a sense that the team's elimination would spark a drastic change in the Brazilian public's attitude towards hosting the tournament.
A significant percentage of the country's population have been "anti-Copa" since it was first announced that Brazil would host the tournament, pointing to the fact that the money spent on the World Cup is sorely needed in other sectors of the economy such as housing and education.
However, just as many Brazilians — likely more — have cheered on the Seleção, hoping to see the team claim its sixth title.
Now, with Brazil eliminated following a 7-1 defeat at the hands of Germany, those who have cheered on the team are quickly being reminded of the reasons why so many Brazilians were against hosting the tournament, evidenced by a picture that's making the rounds out of downtown Sao Paulo.
