Tom Cleverley: Late fitness test against Man City
Cleverley (calf) will undergo a late fitness test for Wednesday's match against Manchester City. Manager Roberto Martinez said Cleverley "is rated 50-50 for the squad tomorrow. We will assess him today, he had some general work yesterday with the medical department and it's a bit early to know if he's going to be available. We don't expect it to be too long."
Analysis:
Cleverley was injured against Spurs at the beginning of the month and aggravated the injury in the team's League Cup fixture—also against City—forcing him to sit out of the team's FA Cup clash over the weekend. If he can go, he might slide into the starting XI, although at limited fitness, he could be available off the bench. After a slow start to the season, also plagued by injury, Cleverley has a goal and an assist in his past three Premier League matches.
