The first leg of the Europa League tie between Wolfsburg and Napoli got off to a controversial start, as Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring in the 15th minute despite appearing to control the ball with his arm beforehand.
After Dries Mertens sent a dangerous aerial ball into the box, Higuain looked to have controlled the pass with a combination of his chest and upper arm as he was being shoved by Ricardo Rodriguez.
However, referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz saw nothing wrong the play, and Higuain subsequently blasted the ball into the back of the net with his second touch.
Despite not scoring in Napoli's last six fixtures in all competitions, Higuain ranks third among top scorers in the Europa League.
