Ajax has secured the signing of Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik, making his loan move from Bayer Leverkusen permanent.
The club confirmed the move Tuesday, and the 21-year-old, aware of the conspicuous timing of the announcement, assured Ajax supporters they were not on the end of an elaborate prank.
Milik, who suffered a knee injury in Poland's 1-1 draw against Ireland in Euro 2016 qualifying on Sunday, has scored 11 goals in 20 Eredivisie appearances this season, adding four tallies in seven European matches.
