Manchester United's Wayne Rooney: Ties all-time Manchester United scoring record
Rooney (thigh) started in Saturday's FA Cup victory over Reading and scored his 249th goal for Manchester United to tie the club's all-time scoring record.
Analysis:
Rooney is now sitting tied with Sir Bobby Charlton for the most goals scored ever in a red jersey after opening the Red Devils' account on the night. It certainly wasn't the prettiest goal but it is a major accomplishment nonetheless. The striker will now have the opportunity to beat the record in the big derby against all-time rivals Liverpool next weekend.
