Demba Ba's dominant season in the Chinese Super League has come to a horrific, cruel end.
The former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker has soared above the competition in China with Shanghai Shenhua, scoring a league-high 14 goals in 18 matches.
But Sunday against Shanghai SIPG, Ba suffered a gruesome leg injury that many onlookers believe could be career-ending.
The incident appeared innocuous enough, with Ba tangling up with SIPG captain Sun Xiang. The injury tells a much different story.
