World Golf Rankings: Watson moves to No. 3
Bubba Watson's world ranking continues to rise following his victory at the Travelers Championship. The lefty took the title for the second time in his career, winning a two-hole playoff against Paul Casey. The win bumped the 36-year-old up two spots, from No. 5 to No. 3, and he now ties Tiger Woods for the second-most tournament wins since 2010, behind only Rory McIlroy.
Woods slid from No. 205 to No. 220 this week.
Dustin Johnson now holds the fourth position, previously occupied by Justin Rose, who falls three spots to No. 7.
Another minor shuffle occurred between Rickie Fowler and Sergio Garcia, who swap the No. 9 and No. 10 positions.
McIlroy and Jordan Spieth maintain their firm grips on No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
Pablo Larrazabal made a big jump after winning the BMW International Open by one stroke over Henrik Stenson. The Spaniard went from No. 118 to No. 69 in the world rankings, while the second-place finish moved Stenson up one spot to No. 6.
The PGA Tour heads to Old White TPC for the Greenbrier Classic, beginning Thursday. Meanwhile, the European Tour tees off the same day from the Open de France at Le Golf National near Paris.
