3 bold predictions for the final round at the Zurich Classic

Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith padded their lead at the Zurich Classic on Saturday, but several other pairs aren't far behind. Here are three bold predictions about what will happen at TPC Louisiana on Sunday.

Multiple sub-60 rounds will be posted

Six teams posted 10-under-par 62s in Friday's four-ball format, while Tyrone van Aswegen and Retief Goosen shot a 60. Familiarity and some aggressive teams will provide multiple sub-60 final rounds.

Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith won't win

Blixt and Smith have a four-shot lead, but seven teams are within six shots of the duo, including Jordan Spieth and Ryan Palmer. Sunday's four-ball format presents an opportunity for teams to go low. Meanwhile, the leaders have yet to produce a bad round, going bogey-free in 54 holes. Friday's four-ball scoring average was 65.8, and will surely be lower in the fourth round.

The tournament will finish Sunday

The New Orleans area is expecting heavy rain Sunday, with 90 percent probability of precipitation in the morning and 100 percent in the afternoon. Tournament officials have already decided to move up Sunday's tee times in hopes of preventing a Monday finish. But for once, the Zurich Classic will get a break with the weather.
