It's been a while since Tiger Woods played on the PGA Tour - 17 months to be exact - let alone win a major championship, but Ernie Els believes Woods can add a few more to his total of 14.

"I guess this will be one of his last goes at it," said Els. "He's 41-years-old now, and I think he's seen what myself and Darren Clarke has done, we've won majors in our 40s, so he's thinking if we can do it, he can definitely win a couple and I think he's got a chance of doing that."

While the PGA Tour is in good hands with younger players like Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and others playing well, Woods' presence is still immeasurable.

"He just brings an immense spotlight to the game, wherever he goes, so he's obviously very, very good for the game and the better he plays, the better golf will be."

One player that hasn't had a close relationship with Woods over the years, Sergio Garcia, also echoed Els about the importance of Woods back playing.

"Obviously he's going to have an impact because it's Tiger Woods and he always does. But, it's all going to depend on how he does physically and mentally. I don't think anyone knows how he's going to respond to all of that, not even him probably."

2013 Masters champion, Adam Scott, who was once thought to be the player who would challenge Woods when he arrived on tour in 2000, is excited to have him back.

"Let's hope he can remain healthy and play a whole season, it would be lovely to see that. We haven't seen that for quite a while with Tiger. He's obviously still the biggest attraction in golf."

Woods tees it up this week at the Farmers Insurance Open, a tournament he has won seven times in his career.
