Kevin Kisner barely made the cut at the Sony Open on Friday, landing right on the number at 3-under par.

On Saturday, Kisner flirted with golf's magic number, 59, when he made eight birdies through his first 14 holes.

The 32-year-old pulled his second on the 17th, leaving him 24 feet from off the green. He holed his third shot to go to 9-under for the day.

Kisner needed an eagle at the par-5 ninth, his 18th of the day, to become the eighth player in PGA Tour history to shoot a sub-60 round and second in three days. The South Carolina native hit his drive 341 yards down the middle of the fairway, giving him a short iron into the green for his approach.

Kisner was 10 feet away from history, but his putt stayed high and he had to settle for a birdie and a round of 60.

The most disappointing 60 ever!

The round moved him up 64 places into a tie for sixth place.
