After finally winning the Irish Open at home on the weekend, Rory McIlroy had plenty of reason to celebrate - and it sounds like the 27-year-old didn't waste the opportunity.

"Rory got wrecked," fellow Northern Irishman and Golf Channel star David Feherty told Brian Keogh from Irish Golf Desk. "But not totally wrecked. He needed a couple of Advil this morning."

Feherty said he arrived to watch McIlroy finish his final few holes, including an impressive birdie at No. 16, before an incredible 250-yard approach that set up a tournament-clinching eagle at No. 18 to beat Bradley Dredge and Russell Knox by three strokes.

"I got here in time to see the last few holes, which as all you needed to see. How about those for a couple of shots? Nobody make the game look more beautiful that he does when he plays like that. Just fabulous," Feherty said.

McIlroy is heading back across the Atlantic to compete in next week's Memorial Tournament, hosted by Jack Nicklaus, as he warms up for the U.S. Open at Oakmont starting July 7.
