Spieth frustrated with his play despite contending

Jordan Spieth has high standards for himself.

The world No. 2 sits two shots back of Brooks Koepka heading into the final round of the Byron Nelson Championship, but based on his comments after a 3-under 67 on Saturday, you'd think he wasn't in contention at all.

"It was a very stressful round of golf to play because I just don't have confidence over the ball right now," Spieth said, according to ESPN's Jason Sobel. "It's very frustrating, and actually (I'm) putting incredible to still be in this tournament.

"It's very difficult for me to stand up here and not be positive, given I'm at 14-under and contending, but if you guys knew the kind of stress I felt over the golf ball right now, trying to put my swing in the right position ... It is a challenge, especially with the amount of difficult tee shots out here and trouble that guard at least one side of most of the fairways."

Adding to the stress: Spieth's playing at home in Texas, and is the face of the tournament. Spectators were given Spieth bobbleheads Saturday.

"I'm looking for boring golf tomorrow," Spieth added. "I hit 33 out of 36 greens the first two days. Something like that would be nice, especially the way I feel on the greens."

Spieth will need Koepka to falter. The latter is on a mission right now, matching the tournament's best 54-hole score heading into Sunday. Koepka's looking for his second career win, while Spieth is in search of victory No. 2 this season.
