Simone Biles returned to her place atop the podium at Rio Olympic Arena, winning her fourth gold, and fifth medal overall, with an exceptional performance in Tuesday's floor exercise final.

The U.S. superstar scored a whopping 15.966 with her exercise, defeating teammate Aly Raisman by almost half a point and the rest of the field by more than a full point.

Biles' incredible meet vaults her into elite company, her fifth medal tying her for the most by an American in a single Olympic Games with Nastia Liukin, Shannon Miller, and Mary Lou Retton. She is, however, the first from her nation to win four golds at a single Olympics.

Raisman, meanwhile, tacked on her third medal at Rio 2016 and the sixth of her Olympic career, putting her second only to Miller. Her and Biles also became the first American pair to finish one-two in the floor routine.

Great Britain's Amy Tinkler won bronze.
