Gabriel Landeskog: Receives three-game suspension

Landeskog will miss Colorado's next three contests after being suspended by the league Thursday for a crosscheck to the head of Anaheim's Simon Despres, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

While no team likes to see its players make this type of selfish decision, it's extra upsetting when it concerns the captain and supposed leader. Landeskog is fortunate that the Avalanche's upcoming schedule -- Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Calgary -- is not that difficult and the team could still tally some victories. The winger will be widely missed in fantasy lineups, as he's netted 46 points in 65 outings this season, including three goals and six assists in his last 10 games.
