Leo Komarov: Receives three-game suspension

Komarov has been suspended three games for a hit on the Rangers' Ryan McDonagh on Thursday. The suspension will cost him $47,580.64 in lost salary.

Analysis:

Komarov reportedly elbowed McDonagh in the head, leading to McDonagh's departure for the remainder of the contest and a match penalty for the Leafs forward. Already depleted among the forward ranks, the club will now be even more shorthanded, temporarily losing Komarov, who has 35 points (18 goals) through 56 contests this season. The injury may also force the club to add another forward from the AHL affiliate, unless a currently injured player is healthy enough to return for the team's next game Saturday against the Flyers. Uncle Leo will not be eligible to return to action until Saturday, Feb. 27, so weekly owners need to park him on the bench next week.
