Jared Spurgeon: Out Tuesday

Despite skating Tuesday, Spurgeon (undisclosed) will not play in the evening contest against the Stars, per Wild coach Mike Yeo, who added the defenseman is a "possibility" to face the Capitals on Thursday.

Analysis:

Spurgeon reportedly is dealing with a deep bruise sustained in Saturday's match with the Blues. This does not sound like a serious injury based on how he has a chance to suit up Thursday. The team is sure to take a closer look at Spurgeon, but in the meantime, defenseman Mike Reilly is with the parent club following his recall from AHL Iowa on Monday.
