Aleksander Barkov: Lower-body injury

Barkov exited Monday's game against Detroit with an upper-body injury, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.

Analysis:

Barkov sustained the injury during the second period on a hit from Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader. He totaled 8:58 of ice time prior to the injury. The 20-year-old Finnish center can be considered day-to-day for now, and his next chance to return to action will come Tuesday when the Panthers play at Buffalo. Barkov has tallied 16 goals and 19 assists in 42 games for Florida this season.
