Analysis:

Orpik has not played since Nov. 10, when he sustained the lower-body ailment in a game against the Red Wings. While there still does not appear to be a clear timetable for the defenseman's return, it's encouraging that he was able to participate in a morning skate Tuesday and also Friday's practice. Look for the Capitals to reevaluate the 35-year-old before Tuesday's road tilt with the Predators.
