Canucks place Weber on waivers

Yannick Weber's contract is up for grabs after the Vancouver Canucks placed the defenseman on waivers Friday afternoon.
After a fairly productive 2014-15 season that saw the 27-year-old net 11 goals and 21 points in 65 games, Weber has gone goalless while suiting up in just 35 of 51 games this season.
Weber could be seen as a depth rental pickup. He is making just $1.5 million and will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
