MacArthur practices with Senators for 1st time in 3 months

Clarke MacArthur is nearing the end of another comeback trail.

The oft-injured Ottawa Senators winger, sidelined after another concussion, practiced with his teammates for the first time in more than three months Wednesday.

"It was a long, boring winter," MacArthur said, according to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun.

And distressing, too.

"The first two months, I was in a bad spot and thinking it could be over. You get one good day in, then it's two days and three days and then you see the light and you feel like you can make a press for it."

MacArthur has now missed 67 games and counting due to head injuries over the last two seasons, but is sure in his conviction to return to NHL ice.

"I know myself, and my body, and I knew the second I started feeling better I was going to put the hammer down and get back," he said. "I feel like I've got a lot of good years left and I know I want to be a part of it and that in itself is what has motivated to want me to come back."
